This article highlights women managers and their role in the global village in the 21st century. Are they moving to the top slots or not? What are the obstacles they face to reach the top? Is the society or their inhibitions psychologically restraining themselves from reaching the top slot? Some of these issues have been examined elaborately in this article.

Do Women want quotas? Are women weak? Are they incapable? Are the internal and external barriers stopping women from reaching the top? If we seek answers for these questions, there is a strong denial from this sect. The reason is, women are no more in the category of minority. They are not inferior to men in their professional life. At the same time, they manage their personal life too. Female professionals are as serious about their careers as men. Both female and male professionals agree that organizations are not providing equal opportunities and compensation and men are significantly less concerned about correcting gender inequity than women. Most of the organizations follow such double standards, which demotivates most of the female professionals. "There is still a large gap between the salaries of male and female managers," says Dr. Elisabeth Marx, Norman Broadbent International, UK (Refer Chart 3).

The general perception about women is that they are weak and cannot take decisions; they are soft at heart or kindhearted etc. This not true in the present global scenario. Maximum number of organizations prefer women as middle-level managers and feel that they are more disciplined and loyal comparatively with men. When men interact with softness then it is treated as that he is good at heart where as women at workplace interact with the colleagues with same kind of softness is totally looked in a suspected angle and even the great stories will spread in the organization. When we look all these issues related to women unless the organizations are strong in their culture and maintain no gender bias cannot provide a platform to these effective women managers. "The companies who have changed their recruiting and work environments to accommodate women are the ones that will succeed in getting a better selection of talent into their organizations," Heather Wilson, Management Center Europe, Belgium. This quote substantiates the above statement.
