With the growth of modernization and technological development, the number of people under mental stress has increased. Regularly, varieties of mental ailments are reported that outnumber physical ailments. Psychologists confirm that most physical ailments originate in mental stress. Though mental stress sweeps through humanity, recently it has been seen the worst victims of it are businessmen and business executives. Physiologists have found out that in response to stress, the pituitary gland secretes a body chemical called Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) into the blood, which induces the adrenal gland to produce other body chemicals called adrenaline and norepinerphine. The release of these chemicals into the human body system gives rise to increase in blood pressure, and increase in blood sugar level.
Thus, the connection between mental stress and physical ailments has been established beyond doubt. Apart from physical ailments, loss of memory, lack of concentration, disturbed sleep, restlessness, irritation, anger, depression, anxiety, absent-mindedness, impatience, misanthropy etc., are some of the mental/emotional ailments that affect a stressed out person directly.
