Chocolate Hut, a retail brand, is owned by Vignette Food Specialties Private Limited, Hyderabad. Vignette believes that chocolates have several intangible properties and they can be an excellent motivational and public relations tool. K Prakash Murthy, Director of Vignette Food Specialties Private Limited, shares his views on Chocolate Hut's marketing strategies.

Chocolate Hut was established in January 2004. The first Chocolate Hut was opened at Snow World in Lower Tank Bund Road, Hyderabad. The principal reason for the establishment of this retail brand was to showcase the company's chocolate products to the general public. A company-owned retail outlet has enabled us to experience directly the changing tastes and expectations of customers. Acquiring this firsthand knowledge has been necessary to draw future growth plans for the company. Pure qualitative and quantitative market research would have been only secondary data, whereas by investing in retail, we get primary data and this helps us to strategize better and quicker.

The USP of Chocolate Hut is that a customer can purchase a wide range of premium soft centered chocolate products at one central location. These chocolates are available in varying sizes and packs and a degree of customization is also possible. Times Chocolates, which is the brand name for our chocolates are hygienically produced, and only naturally sourced ingredients are used. Besides, these chocolates are 100% vegetarian unlike some of the mass produced brands.
