Establishing proper work habits is essential for professional growth because these habits provide a sense of direction needed to accomplish individual and organizational growth. Therefore, by adopting positive work habits, one can improve the quality of work, become a productive worker and reach higher rungs of success. Then, work becomes more organized, easy and enjoyable. This paper makes an attempt to highlight the significance of effective work habits and tries to suggest better

Effective work habits are important to achieve success and status in one’s career because today’s world aims at productivity and quality. To lead and manage in today’s dynamic work environment, one must not only acquire sound skills, but also cultivate effective work habits. Technical skills, communication skills, conceptual clarity, sharp intellect, command over administrative and operational procedure are important, but effective work habits and virtues are the most important for any executive or employee. Therefore, establishing proper work habits is essential for professional growth. As the popular adage goes, “First we make our habits, and then our habits make us.” This is so true, but it is important to know how to develop the right habits because the habits for success at work are more important than before. Effective habits are important to keep one’s work running smoothly, whether one works for oneself or for someone else. Doing the right things at the right time with the right people will help one to climb the ladder of success much faster than others.
