There is a direct correlation between the progress of a nation and the quality of education imparted to its citizens. Therefore, V S Prasad, in this crisp book, a compilation of seven papers, abalyzes the functioning of Indian higher education sysytem and offers constructions suggestions that would certainly enhance the quality of education from all angles,

The American writer and expert on business, Tom Peters, says, "Almost all quality improvement comes via simplification of design, manufacturing, layout, processes, and procedures", and V S Prasad reiterates that statement through this crisp book. Albeit the fact that the book is unusually planned, a true academician with a wee bit of concern for the Indian higher education would find it very useful.

Drawing profusely from the experiences during his four-decade long association with the higher education system, not excluding his four-year long association with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Prasad comes up with simple, yet practical ideas that, implemented properly, certainly can bring about a qualitative reform to the Indian higher education system.
