Leaving apart virtual organizations, almost all organiza tions consist of individuals. These individuals vary in nature and thus exhibit varying behavior. In the organizations, on one side there will be individuals with zeal and vigor to perform, who will be self-motivated, proactive team players, while on the other side, there can be individuals least interested in taking initiative and even will try to hamper the normal working of the organization by creating an environment which might also demotivate other performing individuals. Negaholics are omnipresent and it is really unfortunate to observe the increase in their number. Negaholics are the major source of spreading negativity at the workplace.

Negaholism is dysfunctional, counterproductive and contagious in nature. It spreads like any epidemic in the organization. If not checked at the right time, it has potential to ruin the organization. Negaholics carry a negative attitude towards work and by creating controversy they divert the attention of the group and make the group stray. Such diversions not only waste resources but also deteriorate the organizational environment in general. Negaholics are selfish, too much critical, risk averters, impulsive decision-makers and have problems with their counter parts and seniors. Negaholics know that they are not interested in work and very convincingly they try to justify their behavior. It is very important to identify the negaholics and treat them accordingly, in order to save valuable resources of the organization.
