It's indeed a sigh of relief for
Microsoft to see its newest version
of OS hit the ground running. The Operating System (OS) which flew
off the shelves during the end of 2009 is not only much better than its
predecessor, Vista, but perhaps offers a little
bit more to chew on.
In fact, three years ago with the launch of Vista, Microsoft dug a
deep, dark hole for itself. The poor sales of Vista meant that the
seven-year-old Windows XP remained as the desktop OS of choice for businesses
worldwide until the debut of Windows 7. Needless to say, Windows Vista
software was riddled with glitches and incompatible with many of the printers
and other electronics. As a result, it couldn't live up to the hype created
by Microsoft. Nevertheless, the new service package is a glitch free
launch with wide array of advanced features at cost sensitive prices. Hence,
the glee surrounding the latest version of Windows is in marked difference
to the grumbling that greeted its predecessor. With huge expectations
from the new service package, it is hopeful of giving a boost to Redmond's
sagging image.
