State Bank of India and Cardiff, a BNP Paribas Company, have entered into a joint venture to form SBI Life Insurance. The joint venture brings together State Bank of India, one of the leading commercial banks in India and Cardiff, a premier life insurance company in France.

 
 
 

State Bank of India (SBI) was established in1806 and has built a strong reputation through its dedicated services. Initially, it was a presidency bank, known by the name Bank of Bengal. Over the years, the bank has grown from a presidency bank to a giant size with dynamic banking procedures.

SBI group has the unrivalled strength and has expanded its operations for over 14,500 branches across the country. SBI plays a key role in providing working capital and term finance to the Indian industry. SBI has maintained services through customer support phone banking, Net banking services which are very fast, convenient and easy to use and it also provides 24/7 service. SBI enjoys the largest banking franchise in India. SBI's access to over 100 million accounts provides a vibrant base to build insurance selling across every region and economic strata in the country.

It is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, which is the Eurozone's leading bank. BNP falls among the top 10 banks in the world and is the second largest in Europe. Cardiff was incorporated in the year 1973. Over the years, it has grown into a reputed insurance company specializing in personal lines such as long-term savings, protection products and creditor insurance.
