Maurice Taonezvi Vambe is Associate Professor in the Department of English Studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA). A Zimbabwean by nationality, Vambe is the author of numerous articles on African and Zimbabwean literatures in English and the Shona languages. Vambe has authored African Oral Storytelling Tradition and the Zimbabwean Novel in English (2004), edited The Hidden Dimension of Operation Murambatsvina (2008), Charles Mungoshi: A Critical Reader (2006) and is guest-editor MUZIKI: Journal of Music Research in Africa. Professor Vambe is the editor of IMBIZO: International Journal of African Literary and Comparative Studies (2010). Presently, he is writing a critical book on Genocide in African Literatures.
