This study is a bibliometric analysis of research on human resource analytics (HR analytics) and its connection with the evolution of HR. It aims to achieve two main objectives: first, to link publication trends in HR analytics with different stages of HR evolution and second, to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric study. Bibliometrics, keyword analysis and co-citation analysis techniques were used. Three hundred fifty-five publications were carefully selected from Scopus using specific search criteria. The findings indicate that a majority of HR analytics publications emerged during the strategic human resource management era of HR evolution. Most publications were situated within the social sciences domain, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of HR analytics research. In terms of geographical distribution, India ranked third in HR analytics research, indicating its growing contribution to the field.
In the contemporary business scenario, diverse sectors are increasingly leveraging data for decision-making, a phenomenon that has heightened interest in the field of human resource analytics (HR analytics).
