Teaching Creativity and Entrepreneurship at the University Level: Insights from a New Approach
Abstract

The paper describes an innovative course offered at a German university at the bachelor level, focusing on creativity and entrepreneurship. The course is designed to equip students with the essential skills to thrive in dynamic business environments. It is structured into two main components: the creativity part, which teaches students various techniques to foster innovation and effective group dynamics; and the entrepreneurship part, which also covers essential business knowledge such as finance, bookkeeping, and marketing. Students are tasked with practical assignments, including founding their own creativity consulting company, creating marketing campaigns, and conducting workshops. The course aims to develop highly motivated and competent individuals capable of leading creative initiatives and entrepreneurial ventures.

Introduction

A traditional brainstorming session is a relatively ineffective process when it comes to organizing a creativity session for a group. Old conflicts break out, old friendships hinder an open and honest evaluation of ideas, and judgment often takes place immediately and, hence, too early.
