The paper presents the design and analysis of an aerospace bracket using SolidWorks for 3D modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for testing using Ansys workbench. The aim is to create a bracket that is strong, light and suitable for aerospace use. The design starts with defining the load on the bracket of 1000 N, and the materials selected are Al-7075 and Al-2014, which exhibit excellent quality of high strength and lightweight with resisting properties for deflection. Using the standard parameters for designing, the bracket is modeled for various plate and stiffener thickness, which helps in optimizing the design of the bracket to meet the required standards. The optimization of the bracket is done by comparing various models and their values of deformation and stresses applied on the models. The numerical results obtained through FEA were validated against analytical calculations, showing a close correlation, with a deviation of only 14%.
Optimization of topology is one of the most promising technologies developed in computer design.
