The paper explores the information-seeking behavior of law faculty employed in various law schools throughout Telangana. It examines the information needs, sources used to obtain information, search strategies, and the challenges faced by law faculty in fulfilling their teaching and research responsibilities. Following a survey of faculty of selected law schools in Telangana, the study identifies the key information sources (i.e., academic journals, legal databases, books, online repositories, etc.) and highlights the role of informal networks (i.e., colleagues, professional communities). In addition, it analyzes how the increasing reliance on digital resources (i.e., e-journals, electronic legal resources) results from their ease of use and availability. The paper emphasizes the importance of improving information literacy, increasing access to high-quality materials, and enhancing awareness of new technology in education.
Faculty members play a central in developing the academic and analytical skills of their students as well as preparing them for future practice, within an ever-changing landscape of legal education. Their effectiveness relies on their ability to locate, interpret, and use current and relevant legal information.
