The study seeks to examine the relationship between gender diversity policies and whistleblowing behavior among male and female employees of MNCs operating in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. A total of 182 responses were collected for the study. The results indicate a significant correlation, with female employees showing a stronger link between satisfaction with gender diversity policies and their likelihood of reporting unethical behavior. Key factors such as gender diversity valued at workplace, neutral career opportunities, promoting a culture of respect, equitable promotion opportunities, and companies’ overall commitment to gender diversity were measured. For male employees, the relationship was positive but slightly weaker, suggesting a moderate influence of gender diversity policies on their whistleblowing actions. These findings highlight the importance of fostering gender diversity, respect, and inclusion in workplace culture to encourage ethical reporting behaviors across both genders.
Enhancing the demographic “mix” of employees within a group or organization as a management practice is workplace diversity (Creary et al., 2021). Organizations today are prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, recognizing that a diverse workforce can significantly benefit their business.
