Entrepreneurship is preceded by entrepreneurial intention (EI). The purpose of the study is to examine the broad spectrum of research on EI and how it has evolved over a period of time. The study employs bibliometric analysis and content analysis. VOS Viewer software is used for analysis. The study considers the time period from 1972 to April, 2024 and uses Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) review methodology. A total of 2,435 articles are used for analysis. Vos Viewer software is used to conduct the analysis. The findings of the study highlight leading authors, documents, countries, journals, universities in the field of EI. Further, overlay visualization depicts the evolution of keywords related to EI over a period of time. Moreover, five clusters are identified through network visualization. This enables the identification of key areas of interest in the field as well as the analysis of the relationship between various keywords. While previous studies focused on a specific topic within EI, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of research in the domain of EI.
