The basic philosophy of the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) in the field of its human resources is to attract competent persons with growth potential and develop their skills and capabilities in a congenial work and social environment through adequate opportunity for advancement. The performance of an organization is dependent upon the sum-total of the performance of its members. The success of an organization will, therefore, depend on its ability to measure accurately the performance of its members and use it objectively to optimize them on most vital resources. This is where performance management system comes into the picture.
