The book is a saga of the Vile and the
Naïve, as we find these two kinds of people in the
world of power and politics. Vile is a persona for whom
only the ends matter, while Naïve is one for whom
the means is as important as the ends. In the battle for
power, sometimes the Naïve wins, but more often it
is the Vile. Pavan Choudary takes the prior statement as
a challenge and enunciates ways in which the Naïve
can handle the tactics of the Vile. This book is for the
Naïve, who is benevolent and compassionate, and is
above all, a man with conscience. He is completely opposite
to the Vile, who is a man with lots of ambition but little
conscience. The author challenges the common Machiavelli's
belief that a good man does not have a chance. He asserts
that the path of goodness, coupled with creativity and
wisdom, is the only way to an enduring victory. The author's
vision is to provide a platform for the Naïve from
where he can fly high in the sky of success.
The book is segmented into three sections
followed by an epilogue. The first and foremost section
comprises 14 chapters, where the author throws light on
the profile of the Vile. Besides the profile, the author
also deals with the modus operandi of the Vile.
The second section, containing 15 chapters,
deals with the strategies implemented by the Naïve
to handle the scandals crafted by the Vile. The third section,
with its 22 chapters, is all about the power of good luck,
goodness, character, commitment, friendship, consistency,
silence, sensitivity, relaxation, laughter, sharing, intuition,
gratitude, balance, love, discipline, humility, maturity
and wisdom. The epilogue is an eye opener for a growing
leader as it is about the journey beyond wisdom. |
