According to data sourced from Center for Monitoring Indian Economy, total of 640 M&A aggregating Rs. 16,078 cr were announced during April-September 2002, compared to 629 M&A worth Rs. 13,817 cr during the same period in 2001. Most of these deals took place in chemicals, finance, communications and IT sectors including the BPO segment. It shows that M&A across the globe are on the rise. |
