The success and failure in management depends upon the decision-making and discriminative power of a manager. The manager, to be a good decision-maker, should have sound functional knowledge more than modern management theories, which put more stress on emotional intelligence.

Different management theories are being developed by the manager to take accurate decision. The manager may be intelligent but if he/she is lacking in concern for others, empathy and sympathy, he may fail to take a good decision. With the uncertainty and turbulence in the global business, very often, it is found that the managerial theories are failing to solve the problems. The present business challenges need some kind of human values to be adopted such as courage, patience, flexibility and determination to face them. At present, with operational research, Decision Support System (DSS) and with the aid of computers, managers are taking faster and accurate decisions. In spite of the technological advancement a manager needs certain values and moral qualities to take the decision with proper human concern so that the decision outcome can be implemented easily to get desired result.
