This paper starts with the big question: Do we plan to utilize the limited amount
of time we have to our greatest benefit?
We go about our daily activities in a frenzied manner without any sense
of achievement. We need to ask ourselves whether we are concentrating and doing
the right things to achieve the right results. We need to analyze our focus; we
concentrate on being busy rather than achieving results. Can we work under intense pressure?
Can we function effectively under any given circumstances?
For best answers to all these questions we need to exert smartness and learn
to improve the way we utilize our time. At this juncture, there is an urgent need to
take control of time and life but we are so disorganized that we always procrastinate.
Do you avoid doing a task that you need to accomplish? Do you see yourself
postponing tasks until later? Later turns to tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. The task
is extended to later and later and later
, until there is enough time to complete the
task that is most pressing. This habit of putting off things for later or to a future time
is called procrastination. It often leads to hopelessness, uncertainty, failure, and
remorse. The only thing procrastination helps is not achieving your goals. When the goals
are not achieved, both growth and career are at stake. |
