With the opening of Indian economy, the horizons of the Indian Management Systems (IMS) and Indian Management Education Systems (IMES) have become more apparent. Experts are discussing the failures of both the Indian industry and IMES on various platforms. Even though the opinions of these experts are of divergent in nature, but are needed to improve the IMES drastically and desperately, in order to survive in the on slot of likely entries of the foreign management institutes or universities in near future. The team of researchers from Sinhgad Institute of Management, Pune, studied and analyzed the present entrance examination system used by various institutes. The team has included 11 various entrance examinations including Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Entrance Test (CET) and Management Aptitude Test (MAT), etc. with respect to the parameters/variables used and their weightage. The important parameters used by these entrance examination systems are Problem Solving, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Verbal Ability, etc. After studying these parameters, with respect to their importance in achieving final objective, the research team suggested a modified system of entrance examination for the Postgraduate Management courses.
