There is a hue and cry, especially by the corporates, regarding soft skills training. Some corporates today have in-house trainers to brush-up the soft skills of their personnel. Most other corporates expect new entrants to their organization to be tailor-made to fit in their requirements. This article analyzes the soft skills training and the ways to go about implementing the same.

Soft skill trainers around the world are very much in demand today. Until about five years ago, nobody even knew that such trainers exist. Today, big corporates have realized that personnel who lack basic soft skills, do not fit into their organizations anymore. High qualifications and good grades are insufficient for one to climb the ladder of corporate success anymore.

About 20 years ago, things were different. Discipline began at home. In the families, where the father was the only breadwinner, the mother and the grandparents had an important, undefined role to play. While Moral Science as a subject was unheard of, people had the time for bed-time stories which had morals for children. Families had at least one meal together, after praying to the family deity. Father, it was understood, sat at the head of the table. Children, mostly never spoke in his presence. There was never a clutter of plates. Food served in the plates had to be eaten. There was to be no wastage of food or other resources. Pocket money was unheard of. Mother, mostly served as the stabilizer. In this, children assimilated discipline, morals, meditation, respect for authority, value for money. This resulted into peace of mind for themselves and also for those they came in association with them. They grew up to be healthy adults, healthy both in body and spirit.
