Description
This research paper concentrates on the optimality of warehousing in various industries, in particular the fertilizer industry. Many industries, mainly the fertilizer industry, experience irregular demand during the year. This makes warehousing a critical function for the distribution department. A model of analysis warehousing has been suggested here. This model has been tested by application on the warehousing operations of a fertilizer company.
The model applies correlation logic to arrive at the above. The presented model has three component analyses:
The first analysis suggested (Optimization Analysis) arriving at those MR levels for each warehouse that the company has to prefer to reach optimality in warehousing.
The second analysis (Benchmarking Analysis) suggests relative comparison of the warehousing.
