In this paper, the author presents a methodology to analyze the information gaps in any of the business functions of an organization, and arrives at a methodology to bridge those gaps. The key point here is to firstly arrive at the information gaps and then understand the root causes for these gaps. Then the root causes are solved, thereby bridging those information gaps. The author also presents how IT is an effective and practical tool to solve these information gaps.

One of the long-lasting problems faced by most organizations is the information gap that arises in any of the business functions. While the reasons for this might be manifold, the methodology used to analyze and arrive at a solution is very similar.
