The concept of Science and Technology Parks (STPs) is a recent phenomenon. The management of knowledge and its application for the furtherance of benefits to mankind is the core purpose of these huge estates. This paper discusses the various aspects of these STPs and the role of the modern applications of management in the development of these.Since time immemorial, man has been in the business of management. It involved the management of the basic things of his daily life - the way he procured his food, and the choice of his tools and hunting grounds. However, the world started shrinking the minute the wheel was invented, and the process of management became more and more complex. And now, the time has come for humanity to manage knowledge itself.

This was especially so in the second half of the 20th century. Since then as knowledge has grown exponentially. With knowledge being freely available in the cyber space, there is no limit to the kind of information available on any subject. This huge knowledge expanse collected by mankind over the period of its evolution, does require to be channelized for the good of society and betterment of humankind in each and every way. The economic outlays needed for managing the entire spectrum of this activity are mind-boggling. Science and Technology Parks (STPs) are tools to achieve this objective. While management is the methodology to harness what has been stated above, STPs are the front-end tools. Thus, it can be safely stated that management has a great and all-encompassing role in the development of STPs.
