In the present trend of creating leaders in organizations, one should be aware of leaders who are labeled as "alpha". They are those people who have the qualities such as self-confidence and high intelligence and are action-oriented but fail to appreciate the ideas and efforts of those around. They demotivate their co-workers and consider themselves as the go-getters in the organization. Alpha leaders require skilled coaches who can regulate the energies by preserving their strength and working on their weaknesses, thereby leading to a harmonious team spirit.

Organizations are driven by the managerial leaders and without them the organization's survival is at stake. They are the go-getters for the organization and see that things are done efficiently. According to Ludeman and Erlandson, organizations should be careful with leaders who are classified as Alpha males. Alpha males have typical qualities like self-confidence, being highly opinionated, intelligent and action-oriented. They set high performance expectations for themselves and for others and are direct in communication, highly disciplined, always rational and tend to be unemotional about things. Alpha males think that they are smarter than most people, even smarter than their parents and teachers, because of their vast experience. As a result, they believe that they have unique insights and have complete faith in their instincts.

Alphas act decisively and have the basic fundamentals strong in almost every area and everything they come across. Because they are good learners, they try to learn and understand from the logical point of view. It is this nature, which makes them think better and sometimes tend to be intuitive. However, this decisive and intuitive behavior narrows down their understanding of others. All these qualities of Alphas tend to make them domineering and sometimes intimidating to others in the organizations.
