A Study on Organizational Culture and Its Impact on the Performance of IT Employees in Chennai

Organizational culture elements and strategies followed by Information Technology (IT) companies are designed to attract and retain the professionals and are formulated to meet the current market conditions. The study about culture system becomes imperative, as the competitors are willing to pay more and poach the skilled workforce, intensifying the demand for talent in the market. The study is conducted by using both analytical and descriptive type of methodology. The survey is conducted in IT companies located in Chennai. It is inferred that organizational culture influencing performance among the employees in the IT industry depends on the major factors such as organizational culture, work environment, safety and negotiation. It is concluded that the employees realized a conducive organizational culture influencing organizational performance in the IT industry. It helps employees to realize the main objectives of the organization and its culture for their benefits.

Job Satisfaction Level Among Employees: A Case Study of Jammu Region, J&K

This study presents a scientific method of organizational survey for public sector. The study is based mainly on the primary data collected from employees with the help of a well-drafted, pre-tested, and structured questionnaire. It indicates that majority of the sample employees are in the middle age group who have sufficient experience of working with an organization. Education-wise, it is evident that a large number of employees are graduates and postgraduates. As far as employees experience is concerned, it is found that most sample employees have more than 20 years of experience, indicating that employees have longer attachment with their workplaces. Regarding the income description of the employees, working in the sample public sector organizations, it is discernible that there are no employees who have pay structure of less than 6,000. Besides, the paper draws attention on the factors influencing the job satisfaction level of the employees of the various public sector organizations.

Motivating Through Satisfaction: An Ongoing Effort of HR in Organizations

Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) sector depends on technology and people who are capable of handling the projects with a timeframe. As a consequence, people form the basic asset of this sector. People working in this sector are young, view their careers as supreme, have a different mind set relating to social norms, life balance, etc. The new generation workers, working in the technology-driven industry and tagged as high contributors to the economy, have an elevated platform to deal with. This makes organizations to venture into a serious thought process of holding the performers with them for as long as they can in a satisfying mental state. This paper focuses on monetary and non-monetary compensation components contributing towards employee motivation.

Factors Affecting Employee Attrition: A Multiple Regression Approach

Today, attrition is one of the important issues in an organization. Employees' liking for an organization depends on several factors. In this paper, the author examines the relationship between the high attrition rate in the Indian Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) sector. The data is collected from several IT companies and analyzed using multivariate techniques. Principal component analysis has been performed to find the underlying dimensions for job attrition. Multiple regression is then used to examine the significant for the high rate of job switching among its employees. Based on this, the author has also segmented the people into three categories.

Core Value Actualization: A Study of an Indian Public Sector Enterprise

Over the years, public sector enterprise has made a remarkable progress and emerged as a globally appreciated organizations. Post-liberalization is a big challenge for public sector enterprises. The companies have been successful in last few years both in the national and international level. Today, some of them are market leaders, and instilled benchmark performance in the country attracting global recognition. The role of employee is crucial for the success of these organizations. Hence, there is a need to study the level of satisfaction of employees to understand the effectiveness of the policies of these organizations as well as their implementations. The objective of this paper is to study the satisfaction of employees on the policy implementation by a selected public sector enterprise.

Automated Teller Machines (ATMs): The Changing Face of Banking in India

Information and communication technology has changed the way in which banks provide services to its customers. These days the customers are able to perform their routine banking transactions without even entering the bank premises. ATM is one such development in recent years, which provides remote banking services all over the world, including India. This paper analyzes the development of this self-service banking in India based on the secondary data.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is playing a very important role in the progress and advancement in almost all walks of life. The deregulated environment has provided an opportunity to restructure the means and methods of delivery of services in many areas, including the banking sector. The ICT has been a focused issue in the past two decades in Indian banking. In fact, ICTs are enabling the banks to change the way in which they are functioning. Improved customer service has become very important for the very survival and growth of banking sector in the reforms era. The technological advancements, deregulations, and intense competition due to the entry of private sector and foreign banks have altered the face of banking from one of mere intermediation to one of provider of quick, efficient and customer-friendly services. With the introduction and adoption of ICT in the banking sector, the customers are fast moving away from the traditional branch banking system to the convenient and comfort of virtual banking. The most important virtual banking services are phone banking, mobile banking, Internet banking and ATM banking. These electronic channels have enhanced the delivery of banking services accurately and efficiently to the customers. The ATMs are an important part of a bank’s alternative channel to reach the customers, to showcase products and services and to create brand awareness. This is reflected in the increase in the number of ATMs all over the world. ATM is one of the most widely used remote banking services all over the world, including India. This paper analyzes the growth of ATMs of different bank groups in India.
International Scenario

If ATMs are largely available over geographically dispersed areas, the benefit from using an ATM will increase as customers will be able to access their bank accounts from any geographic location. This would imply that the value of an ATM network increases with the number of available ATM locations, and the value of a bank network to a customer will be determined in part by the final network size of the banking system. Indian Scenario

The financial services industry in India has witnessed a phenomenal growth, diversification and specialization since the initiation of financial sector reforms in 1991. Greater customer orientation is the only way to retain customer loyalty and withstand competition in the liberalized world. In a market-driven strategy of development, customer preference is of paramount importance in any economy. Gone are the days when customers used to come to the doorsteps of banks. Now the banks are required to chase the customers; only those banks which are customercentric and extremely focused on the needs of their clients can succeed in their business today.
